I am not in total agreement that those Individuals who die while subject to DoLS are no longer required to have an INQUEST for the following reasons: too many avoidable deaths are now 'hitting' the PRESS via poor care and neglect in Care Homes.

'Responsible Persons Representative' should be entitled to request an INQUEST, and family members.

As a 'Responsible Persons Representative' I removed my father-in-law from an NHS Dementia Ward? would not eat or drink brought about by an Infection in his mouth, sores over lips and mouth. My concerns to the Ward Manager received the comment 'Probably not drinking enough'? and everything is 'breaking down' he is old.

This 99yr old is now in a Nursing/Care Home, they treated the 'abscess' in his mouth and he doing ok.
